Nantong Port’s Throughput Reached over 170 Million Tonnes

1 February 2012 – Nantong Port achieved highest annual throughput in 2011. Its cargo throughput grew 15% year-on-year, reached 173 million tonnes; container throughput increased 16.8% year-on-year, reached 539,800 TEUs; and foreign trade cargo throughput up 2.38% year-on-year, achieved 33.22 million tonnes.

In 2011, Nantong Port Group recorded 58.698 million tonnes cargo throughput and 446,000 TEUs container throughput, which represented 6.6% and 13.6% year-on-year growth and set the historical record. In the main cargoes handled by Nantong Port Group, metal ores were 37.985 million tonnes, non-metal ores were 5.645 million tonnes, coals were 3.947 million tonnes and fertilizers were 1.147 million tonnes.

 

 

PYI Sponsors the Fourth Study Tour of Wuhan Outstanding Students

18 January 2012 – PYI sponsored the Fourth Study Tour of Wuhan Outstanding Students on a 6-day trip to Hong Kong and Macau. The tour was aimed at educating the students on the educational and commercial operations in Hong Kong and providing the opportunity to widen their horizons.

The 29 participants selected among outstanding students by local education bureaus were arranged to visit the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Housing Authority, the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and meet local secondary students during their study tours.
