Tongzhou-Yangkou Port Highway Passed the Assessment on Feasibility Fair
17 June 2010 – Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Transport approved a feasibility study of Tongzhou-Yangkou Port Highway. According to the website of Nantong Development and Reform Commission, the construction of the Tongzhou-Yangkou Port Highway is expected to commence in the green, with the green light given.
Tongzhou-Yangkou Port Highway will link from Xingdong Town of Tongzhou to Yangkou Port connecting to the Nantong-Qidong highway. It will stretch east-north to Tongzhou and Rudong. It will link to the seafront high class highway which will soon commence construction and the Gold Bull Island under planning. The 52.1 km Tongzhou-Yangkou Port Highway will be constructed in 2 phases. The estimated project cost is RMB3,450 million.
PYI supports “Earth Hour 2010”
25 March 2010 – PYI supports “Earth Hour 2010”, and will turn off all the non-essential lights and appliances in office at 8:30pm on 27 March (Saturday). The message is disseminated via email to all staff, who are encouraged to join this meaningful activity together with their families.
In 2009, World Wild Fund’s global event “Earth Hour” was supported by 88 countries. More than a billion of people showed their concern on climate change by turning off their lights for an hour. PYI Named “Caring Company” for Two Consecutive Years
1 March 2010 – PYI had been awarded "Caring Company" by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service for two consecutive years. The Caring Company Logo is awarded to PYI with three criteria fulfilled, including "Volunteering", "Caring for the Employee" and "Caring for the Environment" in the year 2009/10.
PYI will continue to demonstrate good corporate citizenship and serve the communities where it operates.
PYI Sponsors Study Tours of Nantong and Wuhan Outstanding Students
12 February 2010 – PYI sponsored more than 50 outstanding secondary school students from Wuhan and Nantong on study tours to Hong Kong. The sponsorship is part of the Group’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Participants were selected among outstanding students by local education bureaus. They visited headquarters of PYI, the Legislative Council Chamber, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and met local secondary students during their study tours.
According to respective agreements between PYI and Wuhan and Nantong, PYI will sponsor the study tours for five consecutive years.
